Colors ft Sarah Belle Reid is a loop library built across 15 unique kit architectures — each kit containing stems across synth, modular, electroacoustic brass, effects, and drums. The source material comes from Sarah Belle Reid's modular and electroacoustic practice — a sound design approach where synthesis, brass, and electronics are treated as a continuous signal chain rather than separate sources. The result is 270 loops with intentional movement built into every bar — textures that evolve across their 30 to 60 second durations rather than static one-bar repeating phrases. The 60 dedicated drum loops are designed specifically to co-exist with the kit's harmonic and timbral identity, making it practical to build complete arrangements within a single kit. Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 each contain 135 loops (including 30 drum loops) organized by BPM 80–110. Sarah Belle Reid’s approach to modular synthesis shines throughout both sides of the Colors bundle. The abstract melodies, shifting harmonics, unstable textures, and experimental atmospheric layers create an incredible palette for composers, producers, and sound designers. The sounds feel futuristic and emotional at the same time, which is a combination that I absolutely love.
The modular synth loops evolve naturally with a concordant type of movement, manipulation, and tension that adds a true human touch while continually sparking new musical ideas. The included drum material adds another layer of versatility as the rhythms feel dynamic and intentionally designed to complement the aforementioned evolving synth work instead of overpowering it. Everything feels cohesive and curated with artistic intention. There is a real sense of performance embedded into every sound, which gives the entire collection an organic character that’s difficult to find in most modern sample libraries.
